Ground Beef Recipe for Tacos
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Optional: 1 jalapeño, diced 🔥
- 1 tbsp cooking oil (EVO, canola, coconut)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 packet TJ’s taco seasoning mix (2 tbsp or 18g). Double for really spicy.
- 1 14oz can tomatoes or tomato sauce (tomatoes w/ green chiles for extra spice 🔥)
Recipe
- Chop onion (and if using, dice jalapeño)
- Heat oil in a heavy saucepan
- Add the onion (and jalapeño, if using) and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add the ground beef and taco seasoning (2 tbsp) and sauté on high heat until the beef is browned (~5 mins).
- Once beef is browned, reduce heat to medium, add the tomatoes (14 oz), and simmer for at least 5 minutes, until thickened. Stir often.
